Graduate Program

Our graduate students obtain world-class research training and develop analytical skills,
including big data analytics, in our programs. Our programs are designed to develop professionals, leaders, and innovators. 

 

Faculty

Our faculty are funded by the NIH, NSF, NIFA and DOE to discern biochemical mechanisms of a variety of organisms and are commited to provide the best education possible. 

Undergraduate Program

A degree in biochemistry prepares you to contribute to a variety of life science and engineering disciplines including human or veterinary medicine, pharmacy, agriculture and sustainability, metabolic engineering, and synthetic biology.

 

Research

Our research programs are advancing our understanding of Protein Dynamics, Metabolic Extremes, Drug Discovery, Nucleic Acid Biochemistry, Computational Biochemistry, and Infectious Diseases.

Biochemistry Seminar Series

We invite scientists from Virginia Tech and all over the nation to come and present their research findings and we encourage you to join us every Monday at 3:00 PM ET at Fralin Hall Auditorium to learn something new!
